On awakening, my mind connected the dots of my itching, which started in the shower a few weeks ago and turned into a rash a few weeks after that -- the fact that I switched to using almost-scalding water for showers a few months ago -- the use of sweat lodges by Northern California indians, and their immunity to poison oak. Now to investigate if those ties are real, and how it all actually works.
